Applications are invited for a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Veterinary Biosciences. The successful candidate will join a vibrant teaching- and research-intensive School delivering lectures and supervising research.

He or she will join an existing team of scientists and clinicians within the Veterinary Sciences Section. The role includes contributing to research and to preclinical teaching and learning in the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine (http://www.ucd.ie/vetmed/).

This post will focus on preclinical aspects of veterinary physiology in systems-based programmes. Teaching involves a combination of didactic and other delivery styles along with a range of assessment modalities. These cover integrated structure and function across species, and preparing veterinary students for clinical training. Supervision of research students will be an essential part of the role. Previous teaching experience in a relevant biological discipline is highly desirable, as is the capacity to deliver research-informed material.

The successful candidate will have a track record in research commensurate with career stage, evidence of high impact outputs, achievement of grant funding commensurate with an academic trajectory aimed at the highest level. Capacity to link to existing areas of research would be an advantage. The post is open to applications from both veterinarians and non-veterinarians. The appointee will be a member of the Section of Veterinary Biosciences within the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Salary Scale: €50,807- €76,936 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
