Brackenhurst Campus

An exciting opportunity for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Equine Science has arisen within the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences at our Brackenhurst campus. The School is located in a 200-hectare estate near the attractive Minster town of Southwell. There is a range of fully equipped laboratories, equestrian centre, a companion animal unit and veterinary nursing facility as well as commercial beef and sheep herds.

The successful candidate will primarily teach on the Equine Sports Science courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Subjects to be covered (both in theory and linked practical/seminar sessions) may include but are not limited to:

    Equine behaviour and training;
    Application of behavioural theories and different approaches to training;
    Analysis of equestrian performance;
    Equitation with a global industry sporting perspective;
    Horse rehabilitation and therapy.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated lecturer, hold a teaching qualification, who is able to work effectively as a member of the academic team. You will need to be well organised, able to take responsibility and have excellent communication skills. You will hold a postgraduate degree level qualification, be able to contribute to research activity within the School and have or be developing international networks.
