£26,537 to £28,143 (PhD nearing completion).
£28,982 to £30,738 (PhD Awarded; with progression to £37,768).

A researcher is required for 36 months to take forward a portfolio of rural enterprise research in the Centre for Rural Economy (CRE) and to undertake other related teaching and research. The main focus of activity will be CRE’s Rural Enterprise UK project, an integrated suite of research, knowledge exchange and implementation activities designed to improve the fortunes of rural businesses.

This will comprise approximately 60% of the duties with the other 40% consisting of a mix of teaching and general research support within the CRE, with some scope for you to develop your own research agenda. In order to apply you will need a good first degree and a PhD or nearing completion in a relevant discipline. You will be able to work independently and also contribute effectively to a team environment.

The Newcastle project PI is Professor Jeremy Phillipson and the line manager is the CRE Director, Guy Garrod.
