Neuro-Coop
The objective is to disseminate information on innovation in diagnostic and therapeutic methods, carry out longitudinal studies and standardize sampling in the region. The expected change is to advance in the diagnosis and understanding of these diseases, which will allow better management of patients and the development of more effective therapies. The expected results are the optimization of in vitro diagnostic methods for these diseases and the identification of new biomarkers.
The added value of carrying out this project cross-border lies in the collaboration between institutions and specialists from both sides of the border with experience in different fields, which allows standardizing protocols and obtaining a broader reputation for samples in addition to offering a vision overall situation in the region. Collaboration with patient associations reinforces their active participation in the project. An original aspect of the project is the use of innovative techniques to study misfolded proteins and their interactions. It also aims to evaluate the resistance of these proteins to decontamination and the risk of transmission by medical means. This offers new perspectives and knowledge in the field of these diseases.
In summary, the project addresses the challenge of neurodegenerative diseases through cross-border collaboration to improve diagnosis, understanding and development of therapies. The beneficiaries are patients, clinicians, research centers and society in general.
