The objective of this line is to enhance the sustainability of Aragon's livestock systems. On the one hand, environmental sustainability tries to determine the positive and negative impacts derived from livestock farming linked to the use of natural resources. Likewise, the relationship between livestock production and climate change must be analyzed, quantifying its contribution to the emission of greenhouse gases and defining the guidelines to reduce it by optimizing technical efficiency and the management of available resources. On the other hand, the study of the socio-economic factors that condition the behavior and evolution of farms is essential to establish strategies that guarantee their competitiveness, reinforcing their role in the maintenance of livestock farming, the preservation of natural resources and the social fabric of rural areas.
