The FOR-Alimenta project seeks to create an agri-food and agro-tourism hub in the central part of the Pyrenees, considering education, continuous training and professionalization of the territory's actors as its backbone. The importance of the agri-food and agro-tourism sector is reflected in the socioeconomic development, in the landscape and in the culture of the territory, which is why it is essential to facilitate training and employment in these sectors as one of the vectors of growth, innovation and maintenance. of the population. For the project, it is very significant to also reflect the opportunity and employment potential of these sectors for young people, people with disabilities and citizens at risk of social exclusion. For this hub, the creation of cross-border networks (producers, distributors, restaurants, chefs, hospitality schools, universities, etc.) that facilitate equal access to education and training and that facilitate the sharing of knowledge, good practices and services, such as a shared distribution platform. In the same way, this hub seeks to valorize the local product and its prioritization in the different channels through the study of the potential of the sector through innovation, and the communication of the values ​​and wealth and its products and therefore that this sector represents in the territory.

Finally, this project seeks to contribute to the professionalization of agrotourism, which is also necessary to highlight its own activity complementary to the activity of the producers, and as a gateway to visiting the territory.

The FOR-Alimenta project has been 65% co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-France-Andorra Program (POCTEFA 2021-2027). The objective of POCTEFA is to strengthen the economic and social integration of the Spain-France-Andorra border area.
