The study of reproductive physiology in different livestock species allows us to understand the mechanisms and processes involved in the reproductive success of animals. On the other hand, the analysis of the functioning of the digestive system in ruminants and monogastrics, as well as the study of the processes of digestion, absorption and utilization of nutrients make it possible to select the criteria to optimize the use that animals can make of the food resources available on farms. Finally, producing livestock with an excellent sanitary level is indispensable. This is achieved by exploring pathogenicity pathways, pathogen-host-production system interactions and humoral and cellular mechanisms involved in the immune response of animals to pathogens; also through the study of epidemiological and biosecurity factors; and through reproductive pathology.
