Cell Culture and Molecular Biology Laboratory

Location

University of Zaragoza. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Zootechnics Building.

Equipment

In relation to the research lines developed by the A02_17R ALIPAT research group, this laboratory carries out cell cultures, mainly of adherent cells, and specifically two lines: the Caco-2 line, which differentiates into enterocytes and constitutes a model of intestinal epithelium, and the MA-104 line as a cell sensitive to rotavirus infection.

For this purpose, the following resources are available:

  • Telstar® Bio II Advance laminar flow hood.
  • Thermostatized incubator B5060 EK/CO2 from Heraeus
  • Nikon TMS-F inverted microscope.

In addition, in a separate area, there is also a StepOneTM real-time PCR equipment from Applied Biosystems for the detection of altering bacteria present in milk and the study of cellular receptor expression. A Telstar® Micro-V laminar flow hood is available for sample preparation for PCR.
