Equipment

This parasitology laboratory provides scientific and technical support in the study and research of the epidemiology and control of parasitic diseases in production animals. It performs coprological and serum parasitological diagnoses and is prepared for incubation of nematodes.

The following equipment is available:

Inverted epifluorescence microscopy, with transmitted light techniques (brightfield and phase contrast) and filters (DAPI, FITC and TxRed): Eclipse TE2000-U microscope. Nikon
Conventional microscopy: four microscopes (Laborlux, Leitz, Reidret, Nikon).
Binocular magnifiers: Wild and Nikon.
Digital camera.
Climatic camera. Dycometal.
Differential cell counter: DC Counter DBC-8E.
Gas extraction cabinet
Ultrasonic bath
Three incubation ovens
Centrifuges: for hematocrit and two conventional ones Selecta and Digtor
Scales
Other standard equipment

In addition, there are facilities in the livestock building of the Agri-Food Research and Technology Center for the development of controlled infestations of parasites in production animals.
