Equipment

In this laboratory the evaluation and characterization of plant material, mainly fruit, is carried out. It focuses on the determination of fruit quality in post-harvest by means of physical-chemical analysis (pH, acidity, sugar, soluble solids, starch, firmness analysis, valorimetry, preservation analysis, color determination, among others). Also in the individual analysis of qualitative phenotypic characteristics, according to the system of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV).
Mainly works with peach, apple and almond trees.
It has the following equipment:

  • Instruments for measuring fruit quality: penetrometer, digital refractometer, starch meter, colorimeter.
  • Potentiometric titration system: 785DMP Titrino. Metrohm
  • Equipment for image analysis.
  • Fruit preservation chambers
