Line 1.3. Climate change: Adaptation, Mitigation and Response

The effects of climate change can directly affect a series of processes that jeopardize productivity and yield quality. Aspects related to adaptation to these new conditions are addressed, such as the determination of agroclimatic needs during winter rest, responses to environmental stresses and the adaptation of new materials to new growing areas and new conditions. The characterization and response of plant material is complemented with climate projections in the coming decades in different scenarios of climate change evolution and understanding how these physiological processes adapt to current and future conditions conditioned by global warming.

This line includes three sublines:

  • Effects of climate change on productivity and quality of horticultural crops.
  • Strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change.
  • Projection of climatic conditions in different scenarios of CO2 emission levels: Elavoration of climatic databases.
