We would like to invite applications for a full time PhD or Postdoctoral Research position to examine relations between trans fatty acids and childhood cancer, funded by the Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.

The successful applicant will investigate the health effects of transfat during fetal life, in relation to later risk of developing childhood cancers. Under supervision from the Principal Investigator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the study including; organizing and administering the program, developing/following protocols, supervising master students and writing of reports and publications.

The successful candidate will have a degree in public health, nutrition, medicine, epidemiology or similar. A candidate with some experience with population surveys, statistical analyses, and/or epidemiology preferably within the current research area will have an advantage, as will that candidate that has knowledge about the use of information from health registries.

Excellent communication and writing skills in English are essential. Good organizational skills are important. This opportunity would suit an individual looking to develop their research profile within the study program, and seeking experience of project management opportunities within the context of a friendly multi-disciplinary team.

The successful applicant will be a part of our section consisting of various scientific disciplines including epidemiology, nutrition, medicine and biostatistics and network of young Investigators.

The position is available at the Parker Institute, Frederiksberg Hospital, Denmark. The Parker Institute is an internationally renowned research institution and part of the Capital Region Hospitals.

The appointment will be made depending on experience and achievements of the candidate. The position is so far, time limited to 3 years. Successful candidates will be expected to take a strategic and outwardly focused approach, such as through interaction and collaboration with other groups. It is expected that applicants will seek to secure grant support to expand the research programme.
