Assistant Associate or Professor of Dairy Cattle Production Medicine - University of Florida

The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine has an opening for a tenure track position in Dairy Cattle Production Medicine at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor. Overall expectations within the Food Animal Reproduction and Medicine Service (FARMS) are to enhance the quality of the clinical teaching program and hospital service, and advance dairy cattle research. Clinical responsibilities include training veterinary students in dairy cattle production medicine and a share of on-call duty with faculty members in FARMS. Teaching responsibilities include didactic and instruction of veterinary students in Production and Preventive Medicine Courses. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and maintain research through extramural funding directed towards cattle health and population medicine. Opportunities exist for participation in graduate programs, for collaboration in established research programs in other departments and colleges of the University of Florida. Expected service activities include committees within the Department, College and University, local, state, national, and international professional organizations, and editorial service for scientific and trade journals.

Required Qualifications are a veterinary medical degree (DVM or equivalent), clinical experience and competence in herd health of dairy cattle. Individual must possess evidence of teaching experience, creative scholarship, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
