General Description of Position: The Lindshield Laboratory in the Department Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position whose focus will be assessing the efficacy of fortified food aid and the impact of reducing post-harvest loss. The candidate will be expected to work closely with the PI and the research team to plan, develop, and conduct animal and clinical studies, and oversee the data collection within the Feed the Future Reduction of Post-Harvest Loss Innovation Laboratory (PHLIL).

Job Description: Responsibilities include performing laboratory analyses including but not limited to biochemical techniques (HPLC and AAS), performing statistical analyses and interpreting data, assisting with the training and supervision of laboratory personnel (doctoral, masters, and undergraduate students), assisting in conducting laboratory research, assisting the PI in preparing written reports, grants, and peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presenting research findings at scientific meetings. Travel to the PHLIL countries (Bangladesh, Ghana, Guatemala, and/or Ethiopia) is also likely.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in Nutrition or related discipline; demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong oral communication skills, experience performing biochemical techniques, and a record of high quality publication.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience conducting animal studies.
